Pacific Terminals is involved in the handling, storage and processing
of bulk fats and oils, liquid feed products and a variety of other bulk liquid
products.
Our terminals have been in operation around New Zealand since
1980, initially under the Gardner Smith banner (our parent
company) with sites in Auckland and Timaru.
In 1994 terminal facilities were acquired in Napier and Bluff and,
more recently, sites in Tauranga and New Plymouth.
A major expansion over the last three years has seen us increase our
nationwide capacity by more than 9,000 cubic metres and relocate our
Auckland terminal to Tauranga. Tauranga now provides 27 tanks and over
16,000 cubic metres of capacity and, with its close proximity to the wharf, is
ideally situated to store and handle multiple products in the wider Bay of
Plenty area.
Our business is based on the provision of efficient loading and
unloading of shipping and bulk transport in conjunction with the flexible
storage, further processing and discharge of our customers’ product.
All our sites operate under a MAF Risk Management Programme and the
business has recently implemented a Business Management System
providing a structure to manage Health and Safety in the Workplace.
Pacific Terminals is committed to delivering industry leading safety
and environment standards throughout all our operations. This commitment
ensures that safety is a core value that is fundamental to all aspects of
our operations and that our activities have no detrimental effect on the
environment and the communities we operate in.
We will pursue our commitment to these standards at each of our locations
through all our business relationships and in the relationships we have with
our stakeholders.
Everyone at Pacific Terminals takes responsibility for actively caring for the
safety of themselves, others and the environment.
